Dense (10 ft o.c.) Average (15 ft o.c.) Sparse (18 ft o.c.) Step 2: Select tree planting density.

Step 3: Click on the Calculate button.

Amount of trees needed:

Dense (4 ft o.c.) Average (6 ft o.c.) Sparse (8 ft o.c.) Step 4: Select shrub planting density.

Step 5: Select one of the following options based upon what strata of vegetation is included in the planting and click on the associated Calculate button:

Option 1: Planting shrubs only.

Click on the Calculate button.

Step 6: If including groundcovers in the planting, select density and then choose one of the two options below and click on the associated Calculate button:

Dense (1 ft o.c.) Average (1.5 ft o.c.) Sparse (2 ft o.c.) Select groundcover (4" containers) planting density.

Option 1: Planting groundcovers only.

Click on the Calculate button.

Amount of groundcovers (4" containers) needed:

Option 2 : Planting trees, shrubs and groundcovers.

Click on the Calculate button.

Amount of groundcovers needed if also planting trees and/or shrubs:

Emergents:

Step 1: Enter the area of the planting site in square feet.

Dense (1 ft o.c.) Average (2 ft o.c.) Sparse (3 ft o.c.) Step 2: Select the spacing between each clump of 4 plants.

Step 3: Click on the Calculate button.

Total quantity of emergents to plant, assuming clumps of 4:

Plant clumps at the selected planting density with four plants comprising each clump.
