Sound Native Plants provides wetland reconnaissance, delineation and functional assessment to comply with federal, state and local regulations. We use the 1987 US Army Corps of Engineers wetland delineation methodology as required by state law. We offer functional assessment using either the 1997 version of the western Washington wetland rating system or the newly developed 2004 rating system.

We help our clients navigate the bewildering array of permit requirements for wetland areas, including Army Corps of Engineers permits as well as those required by local environmental ordinances.

Sound Native Plants provides wetland mitigation planning for projects where impacts to wetlands or their buffers are unavoidable. Our mitigation plans have an outstanding reputation in the south Sound area for their thoroughness and reliability. We've been getting our hands dirty for a long time, installing mitigation projects with our own crews, watching and maintaining them. We have learned what works through hard experience.
